Visit Tåsjödalen

I developed and designed a completely new website for a local association, Tåsjödalens Ekonomiska Förening. The project began when the association contacted me with a vision for a website that would bring together and highlight all the local businesses, associations, and events that Tåsjödalen had to offer. At the same time, it would inspire tourists to discover Tåsjödalen's unique nature, culture, and activities.

The client's needs and my solutions

The association wanted a website that not only informed but also engaged visitors. They requested a modern, user-friendly design that reflected the scenic character of the area to create an inviting atmosphere. We met on several occasions and analyzed similar websites. Based on this, I created a prototype and then continuously showed my process to the association's members, who were then able to suggest improvements and ask me questions about what was technically possible, etc. A fun project with very engaging people!

Custom-designed calendar function

One of the most exciting parts was the development of a tailor-made calendar. Instead of using a ready-made plugin for Statamic, I chose to build it from scratch with JavaScript, Alpine.js, and PHP to suit the association's needs exactly. The calendar shows the next upcoming events and has a click function where you can see what events are happening on that day.
